Ikebana Vases
Ikebana vases and flower arrangers from Birdfoot Ridge studio.
Ikebana is a form of flower arrangement as meditation with a focus on the line and shape of each flower. The vase has as much importance as the flowers and acts as an extension of the arrangement. The idea is to create a simple, elegant arrangement with an emphasis on each flower as it fits in with the next.
In fact, you don't even need to add flowers. You can add interesting sticks and grasses to create a lasting, distinctive table display without much maintenance. Simply fill the bottom with pebbles or marbles instead of water.
Lee Davis from Birdfoot Ridge hand forms each design, using nature as a guide for a clean, elegant style. They are made using traditional stoneware techniques, including the Ikebana vases, flower arrangers, and "pillow pots" with his signature glazes. All of the work is done by Lee and his partner Douglas just north of Asheville in Weaverville, NC.
The ikebana lamp can be used as either an oil lamp or flower arranger.
Hand wash your Ikebana vases with warm, soapy water and towel or air dry. We hope you enjoy this unique way of creating your floral display's for the table or any place you set aside for a quiet moment in your day.
